mam tor, peak district

in May 2013, we took the kids out hill walking on Mam Tor or also known as Mother Hill or Shivering Mountain. it is near Castleton in High Peak of Derbyshire, about 46 miles, 1 hr 15 mins drive from Nottingham.

the summit is 517m high above valleys of Hope and Edale. The views from the summit of Mam Tor are superb, with a fine view of Edale and Kinder to the north and Hope valley to the east, and a splendid ridge leading from the summit down to Hollins Cross and along to Lose Hill.
